Terms of Service
Last updated: July 12, 2026
Welcome to Good Company Dinner Club. These Terms are the deal between you and the club: what we promise you, what we ask of you, and how the boring but important stuff (billing, canceling, liability) works. By joining through our checkout page, you agree to these Terms and to our Code of Conduct.
We wrote these to be read. If anything is unclear, email support@goodcompanydinner.club and a human will answer.
1.Who we are
Good Company Dinner Club ("Good Company," "we," "us") is an independently owned dinner club based in Kansas City, Missouri. You can always reach us at support@goodcompanydinner.club or by replying to any club text.
2.What membership is
- $39 per month, billed monthly.
- Every other Tuesday at 7pm, we match you into a table of about six members, book the restaurant, and text you the details.
- Meals and drinks are not included. You order what you want and pay your own check at the restaurant.
- We use your budget answer from the quiz to pick restaurants that fit your table. Treat it as a guide, not a guarantee: menu prices change, and taxes, tips, drinks, and whatever you order are between you and the restaurant, so your check can land higher than the range you picked.
- Everything runs on text messages. There is no app.
Membership is personal. It seats you, not guests, and it cannot be shared or transferred.
3.Who can join
- You must be 21 or older.
- You must give accurate signup info. It is literally how we seat you with the right people.
- Our live cities are listed on our website. Joining the waitlist for a city that has not opened yet is free, and billing only ever starts if you choose to become a member.
4.Billing, canceling, refunds
- Checkout and billing run on Whop, our payment provider. Whop stores your card details; we never see them. Whop's own terms and privacy policy also apply to payment.
- Your membership renews automatically each month until you cancel.
- Cancel anytime, yourself, in about a minute: log in at whop.com, open your Good Company membership, and cancel.
- Canceling stops future charges. Your membership stays active through the end of the month you already paid for. Months already billed are not refunded.
- The Seat Promise: if a full billed month goes by in which we never offered you a seat at a single dinner, tell us. Your choice: we refund that month (money back to your card) or credit it (your next month is free).
- If the price ever changes, we will text you at least 30 days before it affects you. Cancel before the new price starts and you never pay it.
5.Texts
The club runs on texts: dinner invites, confirmations, and details all arrive at the number you gave us. Normal message and data rates from your carrier may apply. Text STOP at any time to stop all club texts. Fair warning: without texts we cannot invite you to dinners, so if you opt out, also cancel, or just tell us what you need (a break, a pause, a new number).
6.RSVPs, no-shows, and the Full Table Promise
Tables only work when confirmed people show up. So:
- RSVP honestly when the invite text arrives. Saying NO is always penalty-free.
- If you confirm and then no-show without telling us, that is a strike. Your table felt the empty seat. Two strikes and you lose RSVP priority for a dinner cycle.
- Missing a confirmation deadline is not a strike. Your seat simply goes to the standby list.
- To keep tables full we may merge tables or move you to the next dinner with priority. We will always text you about changes.
7.Dinner is real life. Attend at your own risk.
- Restaurants are independent businesses. They prepare and serve the food and drinks and run their own space. Anything about the food, the drinks, the service, or the premises is between you and the restaurant. We pick restaurants with care but we do not control them.
- You are responsible for you: tell the restaurant about your allergies, drink within your limits, never drive impaired, and get yourself home safely.
- Members are adults we have not vetted. We do not run background checks. Use the same good judgment you would use meeting any new people.
- Good Company is a matching and booking service. We do not promise friendships, romances, business outcomes, or that you will like every table.
- To the fullest extent Missouri law allows: you attend dinners and club events at your own risk, we are not liable for the actions of members, restaurants, or other third parties, and if we are ever found liable for anything, our total liability is capped at the membership fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
- Nothing in these Terms removes rights the law says you always keep.
8.Behavior
The Code of Conduct is part of these Terms. We can pause or end a membership that breaks it or that makes members, restaurant staff, or the club unwelcome or unsafe. If we remove you for a serious violation, the current month is not refunded. If we ever end your membership for our own reasons (say, the club closes), we refund your latest month.
9.The club's name and content
The Good Company Dinner Club name, logo, and website are ours. Please do not copy them or use them to imply we endorse something we have not.
10.Changes
We may update these Terms as the club grows. The date at the top always shows the current version, and we will text or email members before meaningful changes take effect. Staying a member after a change means you accept it.
11.If we ever disagree
Talk to us first: text the club number or email support@goodcompanydinner.club. We are humans and we fix things fast. If we truly cannot work it out, these Terms are governed by Missouri law, and disputes belong in the state or federal courts in Jackson County, Missouri, small claims court included.
If a court finds one line of these Terms unenforceable, the rest still stands. These Terms, the Code of Conduct, and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us.
